The Utilities Commission is an independent statutory authority, consisting of a Commissioner and Associate Commissioners. It is responsible for economic regulation of the electricity, water and sewerage industries, declared ports and other industries. It also provides advice to the Government as required on such matters. An office, led by the Director Utilities Commission, supports the Commission, with staff seconded from the Department of Treasury and Finance.

The rewards

The Northern Territory Government offers competitive remuneration packages, for example:

  • AO4 annual salary ranges from $78,296 to $61,187
  • AO5 annual salary ranges from $92,841 to $97,633
  • AO6 annual salary ranges from $101,889 to $113,704
  • AO7 annual salary ranges from $120,171 to $129,155
  • SAO1 annual salary ranges from $135,371 to $151,035.
